10 Commandments of file preparation...

So there are several bits of file preparation info we cannot stress enough.

First, we prefer to work with "Press Quality", or "Print Quality", pdf files.

Second, when creating the pdf file, please include page size tic marks.

Third, if your page has images that bleed off the edge of the page, the pdf needs to be set up with .125" of bleed space so that we have something to bleed when the sheets are cut. If you do not understand how to create these, give us a call and we will be happy to walk you through it.

Fourth, all files should be set up as CMYK, if you have spot pms colors, they need to be in the file as a solid pms color  like pms-286u for uncoated stock, or
pms-286c for coated stock, not a build.

Fifth, all graphics, logos and photos need to be a minimum of 300dpi.

Sixth, you should outline your fonts before saving your file so we do not have any font issues on this end.

Seventh, we do not accept any Publisher, or Powerpoint files and we no  longer support Quark fils unless you save them as a pdf file.

Eighth, large files should be compressed and then sent via Dropbox.com, once you have loaded your files, you then enter: jeff@jtpinc.com as the person you want to share the file with.

Nineth, if it looks bad to you, we do not incorporate a miracle machine that will fix it. We charge $85.00 per hour of Mac time if we need to fix your files.

Tenth, when preparing a booklet file where the pages print back to back, if there is a page that prints only one sided you must insert a blank page after it in your page sequence.
